Copy Hack: The 3-Word Formula For Writing Anything

The 3-Word Formula for Writing Concisely

If you’re anything like us, then your problem isn’t that you don’t know what to write about.

It’s that you’ve got SO much passion, so many ideas and just so much to say that you often don’t know where to start.

The more you know about something, the harder it is to communicate it clearly and concisely.

But in a distracted world like ours where you have just seconds to make an impression, it’s never been more important.

Which is why in this month’s Copy Hack we’d like to share a 3-word formula that makes writing anything simpler, courtesy of the wonderful Alexandra Franzen.

The formula is this: FEEL? KNOW? DO?

Simply answer the following questions to set a clear intention before you start to write:

1) How do you want your reader to feel?

2) In the simplest terms - what you want them to know?

3) What do you want them to do now?

Read the full workbook here, it’s so useful.

Hope you find that as powerfully simple as we do. It really comes into its own when you have brain freeze and you need to write something you’ve been putting off writing.

And if you’re still struggling to distill your ideas or simplify your web copy, then use our “5 Steps Worksheet” to help you cut through the waffle. If you haven’t already downloaded that, you can grab it here: http://inkspiller.co.uk/5-steps
