About me
Combining my lifelong passion for writing with my career in online marketing led me to strike out as an SEO copywriter when the industry was still fairly new. My favourite projects involve writing straplines and getting the message across creatively with minimal character counts. I also love collaborating with talented web designers (Heck, I even married one). I am so sad I even like to write in my 'free' time but two gorgeous kids and living in the midst of beautiful countryside prevents total screen overdose.
BBC Bitesize
My all-knowing and quirky narrator gave an accessible human voice to the BBC’s Key Stage Three Science revision modules and helped communicate key learnings in a powerful way. Department for Culture, Media and Sport
I helped the Department for Culture, Media and Sport lose the ‘Government speak’ – repurposing existing content for clarity and providing a more intuitive user experience on over 100 pages of their website. The new copy was rated highly in user research and the success of this project led on to further work editing the in-house newsletter.
MTV Flux
I developed the ‘voice of Flux’ and created a unique lexicon for the launch of the MTV Flux channel and social media site. My teaser copy also drove TV viewers to the website and provided continuity between both mediums. The creative collaboration with the MTV Digital team made this a web copywriter’s dream.
Masa International
Inkspiller created a wealth of online assets that not only gave credibility and substance to the Masa website but also actively drove traffic and sales. We worked with this leading Spanish property firm for over three years developing hundreds of pages of web copy, email shots, newsletters and direct mailings.
Channel 4 – 4oD
4oD (4 on Demand) was the first online TV ‘catch-up’ service in the UK. My short, clear and to-the-point web copy enticed viewers to download the software and talked them clearly through the installation process. I went on to write copy for equally pioneering Channel 4 projects Fuse and Picture This.
